Consolidated Progress Report Community Play-2009 Karnataka Zone

As per direction of MEC, the Central Karnataka partners of TdH-NL organized a meeting regarding the Community Play-2009 at MEC on 3.08.2009.The meeting was led by Mr. Thippesh Co-ordinator for Community Play 2009, Central Karnataka Zone.
 
Following are the NGOs participated of preliminary community play-2009 meeting .

Meeting Agenda:
 

1. Community plays (Regarding Games).
2. Project level community plays date.
3. Zonal level community play date/ place.

 
1. Community Play:
 
All participated NGO partners are decided the following games which are conducting from village level to Zonal level games as follows
 

• Nandi game.
• Top.
• Logory.
• Killi thattu.
• Leg Cricket.
• Pachakuthirai.

 
After deciding the games which are going to conduct in community level that we all are discussed the procedures of games and given brief information and discussed how to conduct the games to newly participating partners in community level and zonal level play.

 
2. Dates for Project level Community Play mela.
 
After discussion of games we are decided the date for Village and Project level community play. That with in 25th Aug-2009 games have to complete, and from each Village 15 to 20 children’s are going to participate in Project level community level.
 
3. Zonal level community play date/ place.
 
Date 30th Aug-2009 Zonal level community  plays was planning  to conduct, at Dayanilaya  the Zonal level community play is organizing by Dayanilaya NGO in Karwar Dist, from each NGO 15 to 20 children’s are going to participate in Zonal level play the programme budget will be re -immersed as per MEC guidelines .

VILLAGE LEVEL COMMUNITY PLAY-2009 REPORT

As per discussion of 3rd august 2009 at MEC, all the NGOs were organized and conducted community play at village level as usual this time also to promote traditional games because we are giving lot of interest to play a athletic games exam: long jumping, running, Crickets and Volley ball, but we are forgetting traditional games that’s why, we are conducted the community level play for children’s, physical activities through regular sports involving community at large community play festival was organized. In this regard all the NGOs conducted community play

Objectives of Community Play

Physical activities make a person healthy and strong.  When the person Performa a physical activity, it builds a healthy body and a healthy mind.  Having understood the important of regular play and it helps to build a unity in between community.

TdH-NL encourages its partners in India, to conduct Community Play regularly. In order to maintain the physical fitness of the members in the target community.

As per discussion at MEC of community play coordination meeting.  All the NGos have organizing and conducting following the traditional village level games

The following Community play -2009 are conducted as follow

• Nondi.
• Top.
• Logory.
• Killi thattu.
• Leg cricket.
• Pachakuthirai.

The village level play Mela indeed gave an opportunity for the children and the people of the village to come together and enjoy the play together.  We conducted play to all our villages in different days and there were total 2954 participants.  The children and the others who participated in it enjoyed the play.

The village level play mela were taken to the project level.  All the children and the other participants were very happy to play together and share their views and ideas.  It helped the children to be more enthusiastic and happy. Total 2367 children and 587 Youths participated community play-2009 as part of Karnataka Zone.
